Getting paid in advance, quitting job

Hi,
my current job pays in advance but however I got a great offer to start a better job in the middle of the period they're paying me for and my notice period is less than four weeks. So effectively I have now been paid for work I will not do. My employer doesn't know yet because I only got the offer yesterday. I will obviously be in contact with HR but does anyone know how this will work?
I don't think my contract mentioned anything about it.

How it will work is pretty obvious. You will be required to repay any monies you haven't earned. What alternative do you thing there is?0

I am aware that I most likely would have to and that's totally fine I just wanted to know if that happened to anyone else0

Once you work notice and work out holidays unused there will be a balance which might be negative.
How many weeks of the pay period are paid ahead?
Unusual to have a full 4weeks/month paid in advance.
Is the offer unconditional
What is the notice period0 -
On the two occasions that I have left a company that pays in advance, the HR department worked out what day I should leave In order to mean know one owed anyone any money. On both occasions this meant i did not have to work my full 4 week notice peroid0

If you hand in your notice before the pay date your pay may well be reduced to only cover the time you will work. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
