The impracticability of crystal glassware

Definitely use them if you love them! Do a bit of research on dishwasher powders that are good for glassware, and then use them everyday.
There's that story about a woman who saved her wedding china and never used it, then left it to her daughter, who never really used it either, and so passed it on - perfect condition - to her daughter. And then one day the daughter moved house, and the box containing the precious china was dropped and everything was smashed.
So no one got the pleasure of using the beautiful, expensive china.
If you love it, us it! Also, as reassurance, maybe have a look online to see how much it sells for? This will often reassure you that (a) it's far from priceless treasure and millions of crystal glasses have survived because people are too scared to use them, and (b) how cheaply you'll be able to buy replacements if any get smashed!0
