Employment Tribunal Costs

Does anyone know how much on average does it cost a large firm to defend itself in an employment tribunal? Online I'm getting figures between £8,500 up to £20,000.

Probably somewhere between these two figures then?0

Hi
It would depend on the type of claim. A wages claim would normally incur much less in legal fees than a discrimination claim, for example.0 -
For many companies the real cost is taking people away from doing their proper jobs.0

If you were a large firm you would already know that answer. If you are a potential litigant with a weak case trying to figure out what they might pay you to avoid incurring legal costs, it's irrelevant - large firms don't necessarily operate in this manner. Some will have insurances, some will have inhouse lawyers, and some have a policy of defending all claims no matter what in order to deter litigatious complaints.LucyBLockett wrote: »Does anyone know how much on average does it cost a large firm to defend itself in an employment tribunal? So is it an exact average figure you want? Not 'between a and b'?
You'd need to get all the figures off actual costings, and divide by the number of costings you have to get the average.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
