M-Tickets

A question to those that occasionally use M-tickets for the buses.
I have used a day and week ticket before , those are straight forward as in they last the remainder of the day (in the case of a day ticket) or week for a week pass (from activation) , however has anyone used a single trip ticket, do they last an hour or so?
TIA.

Are you referring to M-tickets issued by Arriva?

If so, I wasn't aware you could buy a single trip m-ticket.

Obviously I was wrong about that, but the basic principle of m-tickets is that they are not activated until first used. So it should remain in your 'available tickets' section until you use it :)

Not Arriva but NX buses, but I guess they are the same/similar.
Yes the app says it is valid to activate 7 days since purchase, it's the single trip part.... as you are supposed to activate before boarding, however some trips are longer than others, eg the outer circle is 2hrs, so a single trip could be an hour whereas a trip 3 miles is a much shorter time.

Perhaps for single tickets an activated ticket is only active for a short period of time, say half an hour.

Assuming that "expired" tickets remain in the app for a few hours after they expire and show the date and time they were activated, if a ticket inspector did ask to see your ticket and it had expired while you were still on the bus, the inspector could see from the activation time that you must have activated your ticket at the time you boarded.
