Lock on gas meter box won't turn

The key fits firmly, but it won't turn to release the internal tab that holds the door in position. Any suggestions appreciated.

  • Try pushing the door in a little while turning.
Give it a spray of WD40.

Are you turning it the correct way?

Have you tried turning it both clockwise and anticlockwise?
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".
