only dealings i have had with them was when i was trying to clear my card - not even in arrears. and they were a complete pain in the backside! I wish you all the luck in the world with them.
  • Hi Juliesg

do an MBNA search and you will find just LOADS of MBNA posts. You need to keep your chin up, your DMP was the best move you will ever make. MBNA will not make your life easy, but its only because you are not going to make them so much money by using their card! Another customer who has woken up to their dirty tactics to keeping a high balance. When you get into bed tonight just think that you will beat them and they will not control your finances + worries forever!

BY 2012 you will be FREE of them! I wish you much luck. Keep us posted.

I hate MBNA with a passion, they have rung me before my payment is due to check I will be paying it!

Luckily changed our phone number now and not told them :p

Anyway they are bar far our worse creditors and as you will see from my sig I am looking to get shot of them by April.

    Good luck with your DMP.

  • Hi Julie

As JillyO says, do a search on this site, there are miles of text about MBNA on here. They are one of the worst creditors for hassling. Please remember 1 thing. You DO NOT have to speak to them on the phone. Write to them stating that you can no longer deal with them on the telephone and request that they contact you only in writing. If they ignore this you can report them to the FSA and your local trading standards. Also, make sure you have all your friends and family numbers programmed into your mobile (if its a mobile) and don't answer the phone to anyone you don't recognise. If they call your home phone you can invest in one of those number display thingys for a very few pounds. If they do get through, very politely explain that you can only communicate with them in writing and out the phone down. These guys are highly trained in their intimidation and bullying tactics and are well known for it. I have been there!

Are you doing your DMP yourself or getting help through one of the agencies - CCCS, CAB, Payplan etc? If you are getting help, report them to the agency helping you. You can also simply quote your case number to MBNA and ask them to conatct the Debt Advice Agency instead. (I am becoming a bit of a bore on this site about this, but if you are not getting help from one of these excellent agencies, please consider it, it will take away SO much stress for you)

Good Luck - don't let the B@6t@**ds get you down.
