June update
8 payments to go! Currently sitting at £37,877 mortgage balance, with £30k mortgage neutral. Feb 22 is getting closer 😁. Spending on stuff that we should do really and generally not being as frugal, few drinks and meals out and actually buying a few clothes for myself. Must say is really nice to have new stuff!!
Just planning lists of home improvement jobs and places we want to go when we are finally mortgage free! Keep up the good work everyone . Enjoying reading and liking your posts.

Great post, getting close now, nearly into the second half of 2021. I spent some time tidying the driveway, painting the fence, weeding and helping my sister out (financially) during some troubled times. All in a good place now. Nice to know I own 90% of my lovely home. Like you I’m planning some spends on some small home improvements and some long weekends away with my DP. Roll on Feb 2022 for you and May 2022 for me.2

1st of the month update - 6 payments to go!!!! Currently balance £35,946. Countdown continues.
In other news, work good, but crazy busy and loooong hours just to keep head above water, nice weekends, drinks and meals out etc etc. Continuing to get other finances tidy and £10k savings, so that by Feb 22 we are all ship shape.
Until next month......

4 mortgage payments to go. Time is flying by and cant quite believe we're almost there. We have realised that we will need to do quite a bit of updating the house when we are MF, but thats fine, all money will then go towards home improvements instead. We are heavily paying off a car too at £500 per month (bought on 0% CC of course). So once MF we will have £1k mortgage payment and the £500 per month back to us! It's going to be so amazing to have so much 'surplus' money, but will be spoken for with home improvements and saving.
Heating has gone on today. So it's quite nice to be hunkering down now for the autumn and winter.
World has gone mad! No fuel, no staff anywhere, xmas in jeopardy!
Work wise, my god, I'm working tol midnight every night. I have no work life balance at all. For the moment I'll keep going, but knowing I can walk away and dont have any financial worries is priceless.
Until next Month!!

Wow, I last posted in October, time really flies. Well, we have 2 PAYMENTS LEFT!!!!! 1st Jan payment and 1st Feb payment. We've waited for this moment since starting over payments in 2008. Just a few weeks to go now, although kinda does not feel like it's going to be real!!
How did others feel the week the mortgage was finally paid off??Dec 2010=£160k.

Fantastic! I felt excited, nervous, anxious and shock! Bit silly really but when you’ve worked so hard for so long I found it mixed. Try to enjoy it, being mortgage free is a big deal! Roll on February 2022!2
