After reading the article earlier this afternoon, I've just sat down with my son and read it again (with tabs about Warren Buffet, low cost tracker funds, historical stock market performance and a compund interest calulator handy).
15 mins later he was more than a little bit enthused about the idea of opening a Junior ISA with a global low cost tracker fund.

As an aside, he asked "why don't they show us stuff like this at school instead of rubbish stuff subjects like ...(insert waste of time subject of choice here)

Now, the cynics amongst us could say that the UK Government, who devise the school curriculum, would rather have a nation of spenders powering the economy, than a nation of savers!
