I have left mine in the machine and had a few panics before now, i think the machine should let you have it back at the beginning after it has read the card.
It's not just me then! :o I can't believe I've left the card in the machine twice now (probably so excited about the vouchers I forget the card!)

They should be like cashpoints, bleeping to make sure you take the card out.

well I guess when they were introduced they never expected anybody to get so much value on to the card...;)

and they still wouldn't if Boots didn't keep making 'oops' over and over again :rotfl:

sad story. :( i went to boots today, got vouchers from the machine. had them in my hand so i could remember what i was going for. but also still had adv crd in hand. i had a lovely time filling my basket with 99p tights, halfprice hair colour etc etc. then found i no longer had advantage card in my hand. the moral of the story - i will always put my card back in my bag! :o

I hope you phoned Boots, or told the store, so that they can stop the card being used and send you a replacement with all your points on! They just need your name and address.

I was told to make sure I did this when an assistant saw how many points ;) I had on my card and was most concerned in case I lost it!

Went to Boots at Lakeside this afternoon, with my sis-in-law. She hasn't a clue about Boots (as nor did I, till joining MSE!)
She bought 3 Santuary Hand pampering sets, reduced from £14.95 to £6. We went through the upstairs till, and they went through at £2.70 each = £8.10.
I thought that was a good price so also took 3. I wanted some camera's downstairs and only had 1 10% voucher, so was going to pay for them together downstairs.
When we got outside and I checked my receipt, I'd been charged £6.75 each!! even at the reduced shelf price they should have only been £6!
I went back in and complained (had I known I'd have paid for them upstairs). They told me that £6.75 was indeed the correct price. When I said the shelf price and upstairs till were less, they wanted to charge my sis-in-law MORE for her 3!!
After a lot of fuss they tried to take mine back and just refund me. By then I wanted them at the lower price and argued the toss. The SA said 'Sometimes different tills have different prices' DOH!
I said 'OK refund me and I'll go through the till upstairs'. In the end (I think just to get rid of us), they gave them to me at £2.70 each.
There was quite a few left on the shelf, but if you do buy any.................................go through the upstairs tills :)
Couldn't find any med bags, but got some face masks priced at £1 each, they went through at 58p each. One voucher, but 100 points each item. They had a fair few of those left as well. All in all A good shop today.

We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars........................

I've managed to get a good balance on my Advantage Card now. Does anyone know if any of the bigger Boots stores sell computers as I'd like to save for one of these? That's providing the Mediterranean deal keeps going for a while yet, lol.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .

Probably the one in Cheshunt is the largest store nearest to you. If you're ever in the west end, the new Boots in Oxford Street is gorgeous, 4 floors and all brand new, never seen a larger Boots store than that.
