Presents for couples under £10????

Hi All

I need to buy 5 sets of presents for family members (mil and her partner, sil and her husband and other sil and her husband etc). I was thinking of hot chocolate / tea / coffee set with mugs, powders, etc

I dont want to spend over £10 a couple.

Has anyone any ideas where i can get some nice sets from which wont go over my budget but are ok to give to as they are only token presents as we are all concentrating on the kids but dont want to look cheap either!

Thanks for any help :T

  • I made up a hamper for my gran with asda extra special bits and pieces, it came to around £14 so if you just went for normal bits and pieces or not so much of it you could easily do the same but cheaper :)

I got all the items below from the extra special range:
1 pack of 25 english breakfast loose leaf tea bags £1.97
1 box of 6 rich fruit mince pies £1.48
1 box begian choclolate stem ginger cookies £0.88
1 box all butter shortbread £0.85
1 box butter fudge £1.95 (grans favourite!! :))
1 box dark chocolate gingers £2.48
1 single serving christmas pudding £1.30
1 jar of australian eucalyptus honey £1.00
1 jar of valencia orange marmarlade £0.98
1 jar of handpicked strawberry conserve £0.98

    total £13.87

alot of it is only normal everyday stuff she uses (tea, biscuits, jam, honey, marmarlade) but I know she likes the extra special stuff but would never buy it for herself!

If you make up the sets yourself they work out alot cheaper and you can buy the nice stuff you know they will like, also you can take advantage of the offers instore (3 for 2, bogof)
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!
  • I have already done the hampers i am going to do for this year and havent really got the time to make more and go shopping for all the bits so would prefer the present to be complete so i can just wrap.

    Thank you loads finallydebtfree.
  • Morrisons are doing some champagne flutes, the ones without a base that you hold, or they sit in a sort of vase type holder. These are 6.99 I think and you could get a bottle of cava to go with them.
    Waddle you do eh?

sainsburies have quite a good range from a fiver upwards, and they are on 3 for 2, you can get 3 pressies for 20 quid, like a box with a full sized good wine and choccies

Asda and other supermarkets do cheese selections usually with a board or cheese and wine sets or bottle of wine and chocs.

I have in the past done - coffee cups and tin of biscuits, one year I gave out thoose little plastic bins with a theme of something practical - like a bath plug, something sweet - like chocolate bar and something silly - like a christmas toy inside. It was more for fun than a big gift. This year the couples are having a Thorntons chocolate box and musical santa.
    Merry Christmas....

whittards tea/coffee/hot chocolate type gifts are 3 for 2 again this year. i believe you can also shop online via their website.

marks and spencers have boxed biscuits, £4.99 each or two boxes for a fiver. happy days! their foody gifts are also on 3 for 2

otherwise, have a look at the gift section in the supermarket the next time you do your food shop. i know tescos have some nice bits this year, and ive heard good things about sainsburys, although i havent seen their christmas stuff first hand yet. doing it this way would mean that you wouldnt even have to make an extra shopping trip :j
