DMP StepChange - Advice needed

Hi

I’ve recently taken the step to sort my debts. Got all paper work sorted with Stepchange and posted them
Off today.

One problem now, and I’m stressed, is my current bank account overdraft. I’ve included this in my DMP, I contacted my bank today to let them
Know I’m entering a DMP and what will happen to my account - they say I need to start a new account. I have this sorted.

My worry now is changing my salary payments to my new account. Tried today with work payroll (I work for NHS), I was told I need to get a form signed by my line manager this week due to payroll cut off. Trying to get hold of her is hard, I’ve emailed her explaining this so hopefully I can get this signed within the next couple of days.

My worry is if I miss the cut off day, will my bank account that has the overdraft still be active to receive my salary? I don’t want it bouncing because the account is closed.

My pay day is 29th November. I’m thinking the DMP will be set up by then.
