Welcome MrsWW, I just wanted to pop by to wish you well. We started with 250,000 4 and 3/4 years ago and are down to 197,000 as all the little bits overpaying started to add up.
Good luck with your journey. CM0 -
Amazing! Gives me hope that we can actually do it - it seems such a daunting amount!Original Mortgage: £276,899

Thank you! We were lucky as the previous tenants left behind a lot of furniture and we thought that we might be able to make a few pennies from it!Original Mortgage: £276,899

Another flurry of sales and cash payments clearing today so another £80 paid off.
I also paid for my transfers for our trip to Iceland in February - it broke my heart a little bit when I thought that I could have used that money to overpay a little more. But I have to keep on reminding myself that I have to live too and being able to afford a mortgage and a few little trips is a very good position to be in!
Looking forward to a weekend of eBay listing, painting and marking! Hope you all have a great weekendOriginal Mortgage: £276,899

Our mortgage is slightly smaller than yours but still over 200K, however, DH is a bit older than me so the max we could take ours out over was 19 years. We've been in just over a year and now have a max of 18 years left. 4 years left of 5 year fix.
The uncertainty of BREXIT and the affect on mortgage rates terrifies me slightly, but I'm hoping it will all be ok.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Happy new year, everyone!
I started the year with a £270 overpayment as we had some money left from our Christmas savings scheme - we are now so close to being below £270,000!
We have really committed to hitting the mortgage as hard as we can this year and have withdrawn some cash to see us through the month without touching the bank - whatever is left over will be used to overpay and give us a better idea of what we're spending with a view to over pay some more!
Good luck allOriginal Mortgage: £276,899

Congrats on the overpayments :T
We completed on our first house in December and our first ever mortgage payment is due to come out the middle of this month.
House needs complete renovation but I am excited to start overpaying and bringing that total down.
Good luck with the rest of your overpayments. I will be following along with you!Mortgage start: £121,500 Dec 190
