Masters Loan Repayment?
Hi,
I recently started a part time masters and have taken out a postgrad loan of around £10k to pay for the 2 years.
However, my work have agreed to pay the fees for me. So it leaves me with 2 questions:
1) am I allowed to keep the loan (it’s being paid in 6 instalments over 2 years: I have already received the first), and use it for something else
2) I don’t currently own a home and am trying to save for a deposit. Would I be better off to have an additional £10k towards my deposit (ie keep the loan and use it towards this, I am planning to have a £22-24k deposit in the next 2 years) or would I be better off to cancel the loan and be debt free?
I earn around £40k per year so would be liable to start paying back the loan as soon as the course finishes which is in 2 years.
Thank you

Why not cancel the loan.
I wouldn't keep it and use it for a deposit, for 1 would this be breaking 1 of the conditions of the loan and 2 if you keep it you will be paying the interest which to me is daft.0
