I have recently applied for a mortgage with a broker who got me a decision in principle with Halifax. I’m using equity loan on help to buy. When I did the figures for help to buy and my deposit for £209995 my mortgage was £157994. Now the question is when I gave this to the broker the broker came back and said that the last figure either has to be £157995 or £157990 as has to have either a 0 or 5 at the end? Is there any reason for this!

No idea but I'm putting this as point 1,273 in order of things you should be concerned about when buying your first property.0

Ah great thanks for the reply. I have done this to £157995. My only concern is the £999 fee Halifax add to the mortgage which would put it to £158994 or is it just the initial figure that matters0

True. However if it rejected then it would be higher than 1273 on my list!0
