    I’ve had a logbook loan before and I requested my V5 back to change my address as I had moved and they never actually requested it back and I kept it for the duration of my loan that remained.

    There’s not much that you can do in this instance. If you want the car back your gonna have to pay and then go through small claims against the seller to claim back what you can.

    Your gonna have to weigh up the costs and see if your best cutting ties and taking the hit.
  • How much did you pay for the car? Small claims fees are not huge. Could be worth initiating the process in the hope that they settle before court. I would be taking them to court partly in the hope that it scares them from trying this on again in the future.

    This is also a lesson for you. All this could have been avoided if you carried out research in the first place.
