Boots advantage points refund

Hi guys
Bought something from Boots a couple of weeks ago and got triple points through it
Since then I spent the points up
Due to other circumstances I want to return the original item back for a refund
Obviously spent the points now - what happens then. Am I in debt with the points, do I have to pay them back, does it even trigger.
Want to avoid being chased up for points (I can pay it back as it was about £35)
