I’m fed up of my current raincoat/jacket that has a hood that falls over my face every time I wear it, especially when it’s raining! Cant see a thing and forever pushing it back only for it to slop forward again soaking my face and running down my neck. Padded for winter would be great and definitely waterproof. I’m a guy and pretty basic with colours.

Yep I will second regatta. Just bought regatta 3 in 1 waterproof coats for me and other half. It's the only coat that has ever kept me fully dry (we did buy 15000 rated waterproof ones)

Craghoppers have a sale on at present. I have a waterproof jacket from them and it has been good. Crucially, it has a hood that is adjustable in two ways to avoid just the problem you mention. The front has a stiffened peak too which also helps.

Failing that, a baseball cap (shudder) worn under any hood will keep it out of your eyes.

Wear a hat, that will stop the hood falling over your face.

Dad has found that no matter what the quality of the brand name, all hoods are too big and fall over the face to some degree but he keeps a hat in the pocket and puts that on before pulling the hood over and it eliminates the problem.
Baseball caps work best but flat caps, beanies and tammies would work as well (even with a pom-pom)

Regatta for sure, loved mine so much I bought a second in black!
  • Tog24 are also good. Not sure if they still are but they were doing a discount if you handed in an old coat for donation to charity.
