Sneaky credit card practices...

Put this down to an admin error, but the more I think about it...
I had a '0% on purchases until end of december 2007' offer sent through by MINT about six months ago so I took advantage of it. Been spending on the card, paying off the minimum payment of £5 a month, and have been putting the money aside into a savings account to pay it off at the end of the year like the good moneysaving boy I am.
I just logged in to pay off this months minimum payment, and saw there's £5.41 interest been applied to the account. Customer services looked, and initially said that the offer was only for balance transfers and NOT for purchases (in which case why was no interest applied over the past 5 months????), then apologised, said they could not see why the interest had been applied and have taken it off the account.
Sneaky bu**ers. It's all well and good them being apologetic and taking the money off the account, but I wonder what percentage of people will either not check statements, accept the charges as 'one of those things' or be too nervous to call up and complain?

Hi GP - Not like you to miss something like that.
Call them up and tell them that you took the card on the strict understanding that the 0% applied equally to purchases as to balance transfers - see what they say.
How's the leg/foot now?I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
