Best way to sell a car?

dh has a Mercedes he'd like to sell in the next month or so (getting company car).
Is Autotrader the best way to go - or has anyone got any tips on how to sell a car privately?
He has For Sale signs on the car itself and he is going to distribute to any friends' works notice boards that he can think of.

It's going to be around the £16k mark and he won't be able to trade it in since not buying a new car.

You can always ask a dealer if they will offer you anything for it. i know they sometimes do, especially when the car is worth a bit.

Have you valued the car?

If you sell it priv you will get more for it. It just might take longer.

E-bay, Autotrader, Free-ads Ad-trader, Gumtree, flyers on notice boards.

Autotrader will pretty much get you a buyer every time.
dont bother with the magazine, just use the website.
