£150 Rent
£100 On Living, Food etc
£80 Car
£200 credit card
you're earning £900 a month
CC is £3700
bank is £1400
you have £370 a month left over after your general bills outlined above,
that means you could easilly double your bill repayments, so you could pay off the bank @200 a month and the CC @200 a month, AND still have £170 a month left over for your booze, etc
you're far better off paying off the bank first tho, overdrafts are expensive, especially if you're over the agreed limit
ring them and ask nice, chances are they'll up your limit, at least for a few months
heres what i'd do..........
set £400 a month aside a month (it'll be hard, but you've still £170 to spend, thats two or three nights out and some left over)
put your credit card repayments down to almost the minimum (will be something like £60 ish for your debt) for 4 months
use the remainder to pay the bank off, 3 months @340 a month will wipe that debt
...once the bank's done, do the credit card @400 a month for as long as you can, if you can't cope, drop it to 300 or so-ish
when you're debt free, set up another bank account - limited access or something, and then transfer £200 a month to that. you'll not notice it going out so much, but you'll be saving over 2 grand a year!!!
really, the ONLY way you can get rid of the debt is to force yourself to give up a few of your pleasures for a while,
it's how i've cleared most of my 16k of debt, my direct debits add up to more than I earn, i make the extra up by ebaying old junk thats still boxed from when i moved house and buying at bootsales and ebaying thatmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)
