Lender doesn't confirm contract

Bought a kitchen from Wickes with their 12 months interest free. I was given a Pre contract agreement from Wickes at the time of the deposit being paid. It was filed away with all the kitchen paperwork.
I contacted Wickes a year later to ask when my 12 months were up without reply. I asked as I didn't know if it was paperwork signing date or delivery date or fitting date.
Then a DD started from my bank from Hitachi.
Hitachi claim to have had contacted me via email, but they are blaming Wickes for supplying an incorrect email.
They are refusing to budge on the interest and have backdated 9 months as they work on a January to December basis.
My experience is that without a formal agreement or annual statements, or notification of a DD, then interest cannot be applied.
A complaint has been lodged, but I'd rather sort it asap with a direct clause from the consumer credit act.
Anyone any experience in this matter?

Have you paid the full balance now?0 -
Your comments are somewhat contradictory. You say you were given paperwork and then you say you have no paperwork. Are you sure the 'pre contract agreement' is not the actual agreement? I'm not sure what you think is a pre contract agreement? You say you had 12 months interest free then you say you waited a year before contacting them so surely that's already too late? Dig out the paperwork you signed and check all the details. I'm not sure you have cause for complaint as the dates will likely be on the paperwork you were given.
My Wren kitchen contract was that payments would start the month following kitchen delivery date which makes most sense and they have no control of the fitting date if you're doing it yourself etc and also the kitchen units become yours at that point. I did not receive additional paperwork advising when the DDs would start and neither did I expect it and this was also Hitachi I believe.0 -
The pre contract was given to me by the kitchen salesman. I still had to wait to find out if I was eligible for the contract. Although I knew that there was no issue going to arise. I still have that pre contract. It does state the 4th oct, even though dates for commencement for fitter and delivery did not start until january.
I can agree interest from the 4th october as arguably my fault.
But Hitachi input incorrect contact details on their system, sent formal paperwork including settlement options into oblivion.
Then they argue that they can backdated the interest from the 4th october to the 1st january as per their detailed agreement that I could not have ever received.
I phoned to settle, but they want the full amount. A complaint has been lodged by phone and payment withheld as I don't trust them.0
