Aldermore and credit search

Hi all, i put in our full application with aldermore yesterday after a few months of hassle trying to get the home report amended, and today theyve done a search on my credit report, ive aeen skme people say a soft check or a hard check whats the difference and how do i know?

Also does anyone know how long a wait it is just now with them? Weve went via a broker and he has made sure he has everything they could ask for sk goping nothing will hold it up

    Hard check will be visible to anybody searching your record and indicate the fact that you are in the process of applying for credit. Soft check might just be for ID purposes.

    Every application differs. Your broker is in pole position to keep you informed.

    Hard search will say "first mortgage" and a soft search won't.

    IIRC Aldermore is hard search at DIP so as long as your full app follows reasonably quickly another one won't be required.
