Selling vehicle prior to BR for fees?

Dear all

We are currently considering bankruptcy and are contacting CCCS to get advice. One question that occurred to me whilst trying to get back to sleep at 5am this morning is - OH has a van worth about £4K which he uses for his job (self employed courier). If we were to sell it and buy one for £2K and use the £2K for br fees and rent (we are thinking of doing voluntary repossession as secured payments are too high) - would this get us into trouble with the OR?

Many thanks

MammaCas

Hi and welcome to the board.

I don't see the OR having to much of a problem with that, Though if OH is a courier will a van of 2k be reliable enough?

For renting you will probably need 6 months rent up front, a guarantor or both.
