Bailiffs

This is my first post so apologies if I'm in the wrong area.
My son who is 27 has built up a lot of fines through the court for unpaid travelling without ticket fines. He didn't stick to the payment plan made by the court so a bailiff was sent to my home where my son lives. The bailiff was 'invited in' by my unsuspecting daughter who was on her own at the time, She's 24.
I arrived home shortly after to threats from the bailiff such as he had the right to remove all goods to the value of the £660 that was owed. It was obvious that my son had no possessions of any value nor savings so the bailiff was going to remove my items such as my television and computer unless I had proof that these items did indeed belong to me. In a panic I paid the £660 using my own visa card.
My son has now been dispatched from my property but I have learnt that the bailiff will call again soon for another outstanding debt of £880
The council are in the process of removing my son from the electoral role but I don't think he will be officially removed before bailiffs turn up.
So my question is will I have to provide receipts to prove I own items in my own property ?
Because its a bailiff collecting for unpaid court fines does he have more power and more rights in my property ?
Once again I'm new to MSE forums and apologise for the long thread
Thanks in advance

If you paid the money and it was owed by your son the only way to challenge is to make a civil claim against your son for the money back. However obviously it sounds like even if you did that it would take a long time to get the money back.
If you can show there is nothing belonging to him at the address, no post or anything you can try and reason with them and they may leave. It would help if you could tell them where he has moved to. Although best way to prevent them coming in is to not leave a door unlocked or let them in. They are allowed to enter peacefully so they can walk in an unlocked door. However they cannot push past you or force entry.

You know the most recent poster (with bailiff issues) isn’t the same poster as the one who’s son was involved(that seems to have ended last year). This is why we should have separate threads for separate cases0
