Hi D&DD.
Just read about Rosie on the other thread. So relived for you and her. Just need to pay for it now!
Been shopping again! Smallest GD needed nappies and we were low on salad stuff and fruit. Spent £5.38 in tesco on reduction, also (not in grocery budget) bought OH 3 pairs trousers. He has gone from 38in waist to 32in. He was beginning to look like worzel gummidge. Also £24.73 in Aldi, and £7 in the veg shop. (35 apples, 7 lettuce, 2 cucumber, 2 punnets of grapes, 5 cauliflower, 10 grapefruit and 4 large pineapples)
Hoping the list stays empty for a while now.
In other news the minibus is back at the garage! The gearbox has been making a noise since we got it back, so it's being looked at. Lets hope it's quicker this time. The most annoying thing is dadtoomany could do this work himself, but needs the bus on a lift. We have a lift, but can't install it until the barn roof is on.
Having a quiet 5 minutes, DGS is at school and both DGDs are in bed, we've been up since 5:17am. Then tea to cook. easy option today. Burgers, mash carrots and cauliflower cheese. DGS has requested liver for tomorrow.
Of to update the sig, mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.0 -
Just had to do another amazon fresh for mainly fruit and milk but they had the bread flours for a really good price and a few other offers so took the opportunity to use the second £20 off coupon so I technically only spent £40.52p but have done two little sewing jobs and sold a few bits,OH also had 2 hours overtime this week so I am actually in credit by £4.63 lol whoopee!
Plan is to stick everything I get over in a jar to lump off the vet bill. It's paid but had to use the dusty ole CCard eek
Sorry to hear about the minibus Mum are you going to be charged again or is it down to them to fix it??0 -
Hi all.
Sadly when the minibus got to garage the fault was not the gearbox bu a wheel bearing. Another job that OH could do when the lift is in and the roof on. But need the bus before then, so £250 bill! This month just seems to be getting more and more spendy. The new roof should go on tomorrow, at least the trusses. Two neighbours helping out, all over 60 years, as is normal round here.
Yesterday I cooked liver and bacon (as requested by DGS, he then refused to eat it!) Liver was home grown, bacon, 4 rashers, about 50p, brocolli, (from the reduced I bought last week) 20p, potatoes 10p, onions 10p, flour, fat, gravey granules etc 10p. Total about £1 for 7 of us. DS-i-L working away.
For lunch today, salad, sandwiches. Tea today will be spanish omelet. The rest of bacon I got out (another 3 rashers) 50p, onions 10p, tomatoes home grown, mushrooms 30p, served with chips (home made) 10p and baked beans 46p. £1.46ish for 7 again.
Forgot to add 40p to total. It was jammed into the slot in an Aldi trolley. OH got it out for me. Have resisted getting a paper today for the £10 Lidl voucher. If I get it I'll only spend more money.
Speak later, mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.0 -
Hi, didn't put eggs on the omlete recipe! No cost as used the ones from our hens.
The trusses went up this morning. Just some battens and the "tin" sheets to go on now. Will have a much more weatherproof barn for this winter.
Tea today was chicken (reduced to £2.38 at Tesco) roast potatoes, roast parsnips, roast onions, carrots, cauli, stuffing. The chicken will do at least one, hopefully two, more meals. Dessert, fruit salad, (all the fruit that was almost on the turn, and home made ice-cream, made when the cream was RTC at 16p tub in the summer.
Till tomorrow, mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.0
