Also to add, in case I didn’t make this clear (sometimes I think I’ve stated things but they’re in my head), we sold our house last month and have banked the proceeds. We’re in rented and have already repaid debt. It would be perfect if we could get the mortgage whilst they count £6k against us because we haven’t proved that yet but I’m assuming they won’t do that unless we ask them to and take a huge risk in doing so.
I’ll wait it out a week, if nothing, then I’ll scrap it all and speak to someone who can help instantly. If a decent broker can get it through in a few days, then I can afford to wait the week (mainly because I can’t face the stress of a whole new application and person right now if I don’t have to!!!)
Hsbc have brilliant underwriters and very good service. They just have really tight criteria as well.
All I'm saying here is that if you get the documents they ask for, they will finish the case off quickly. I would expect an offer with 48 hours of sending the loan papers if this is the only outstanding item
Although they aren't the best for this type of case I actually really like hsbc. One of my most used lenders over thr last few years. Rates are good, criteria is so much better than it was, and their service is great.
