Pump coffee/espresso machine please.

Would like to spend around £50 or so, any recommendations?

  • Not sure if you can get anything decent for £50. Maybe one of those pod things would be ok, but not proper espresso.

I got a briel versatile duo a few years ago (recommended by which?) and its been really good and still going strong - but about £150 i think...

  • I was shopping on Saturday in a store where they were demonstrating the Nescafe/Krups "Dolce Gusto"

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000HAILYA/ref=nosim/accessleedsco453-21 (check out the reviews)

It tasted lovely and there are pods for all different types of coffee. It's on offer in Amazon at £67.50 whereas it was 'on offer' in the store at £80.

The best thing about it was the fact that you can dispense with a kettle as it produces instant hot water, so you can fill a teapot from it even.

    AND cleaning is a doddle.

I was very impressed and have sent for 2 as Christmas gifts.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Dolce Gusto is ... okay. Each cup of cappuccino is about 40p, not counting electrickery.

I prefer a good ole cafetiere, £3 from Woolies, plus decent ground coffee. Plus a wooden swizzle stick to make cappucino.
