Dilemma at work advice needed

In case you aren't aware, everyone knows how to write big!pickledonionspaceraider wrote: »This is a thread where someone is suffering anxiety & people are asking 'why do you have anxiety/so much time off work?.. OOoo that seems a lot'.. No actually they weren't. We were asking because how long someone had been off, and why is relevant to the correct advice. Correct advice being something that some people on here are concerned about giving. The OP asked a genuine question - can they be dismissed for a lengthy period of sickness absence. In case you aren't aware, the answer is yes they can.
For no reason, when they aren't gonna offer advice or have anything helpful to say
I am pointing out it is an illness. No one wants to be anxious, no one choose it, my god it can be a life ruiner
So pretty much entirely relevant - as certain people do not seem to understand this at all.
This forum is not a safe place to open up. Unless people have anything helpful to say, then I am not sure why they are posting negativity. I mean some people need have some humanity for gods sakes
PS that last bit is not aimed at you Comms.0 -
I think they were influenced a bit by Davy's post which has since been removed.
Aside from that, what's inherently wrong with providing a link to the mind.org.uk website (specifically the anxiety and panic attack section) given that OP stated they have been signed off for 2 months for anxiety?
Seems perfectly reasonable advice to me0 -
I would reply to Les79s deleted post but this thread has been derailed enough already. I will merely comment that when someone details their employment history on pretty much every thread on the employment board, it's not an "uncanny knowledge" to then notice that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I don't see a single piece of relevant advice that you have posted on this thread. Instead you have had a rant about something that wasn't said, and objected to accurate advice on the grounds that you don't like it. Insta of having a rant, why not tell the poster something recant or useful. All you are doing is having a go at people trying to help. So who is being negative now?
Bet you can't write really small though. My post was not about you. Thank you kindlyWith love, POSR0 -

So I don't think anyone is having a go about anxiety, but rather saying that - despite having this condition, if you are unable to work then you will eventually lose your job
