Pru PruFund Growth Fund has far more in volatile assets compared to VLS40 and higher charges. The fund manager has been with Pru and the fund for just 4 years.

Pardon my ignorance but wasn’t aware I had fixed income stocks in this portfolio?

Without any delving here's one fund that holds such instruments.
    Threadneedle Managed Equity & Bond
  • Usually, “ fixed income” refers to bonds rather than stocks. Your portfolio has both bonds and stocks. Bonds do offer capital growth (or loss). They provided A LOT of capital growth since the 90s. Long term returns tend to be lower, but having a mix of stocks and bonds reduces short term volatility.
