I have just bought a kit for £1 to make 6 crackers. I am going to make them for the family Christmas meal (5 of us) youngest is 28 (me).
Any ideas for novelty things to put in them....?

I put a scratchcard in each of ours. Cost £1 each from any lottery retailers.
We never buy them all yr round just for Christmas crackers!0 -

Thank you.

I bought the kit from Poundland. It's a box with 6 cracker pieces, snaps, hats, jokes, ribbon, jewels & tags to decorate. They had gold and silver. I am crafty anyway so I will probably add my own bits and pieces and change the jokes, etc.0

I bought a pack fo 12 ready made ones for £1.99 then saw Woolworths selling the exact same ones for £5.99:D I am planning on adding lottery tickets in
them & adding a bit of ivy to re-tie the ends. If I am feeling generous I may add a few sweets to them, but I doubt it. We are aged 2 - 68.
One year my Mum made her own, & bought pairs of socks to put in the mens ones but found they were too big to fit in. So she seperated them, put one sock in each with a note saying things like...."now find the other one!":rolleyes:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

I've put in crackers items such as bath pearls, face masks, wine stoppers, individual chocolates, lip gloss, lottery tickets, perfume samples. As I'm shopping I look out for little items that will fit in.0

I've printed off some free sudoku puzzles from the internet, and will put one of those plus a lottery ticket in each of mine. For my two daughters (and me!) I'm adding a pair of earrings, a perfume miniature, or a Lancome Juicy Tube but I'm always stumped by what to put in my husband's crackers - he's going on a ski trip after Christmas so I'm thinking about a tube of sun block/lip balm on a lanyard, and maybe one of those cyberlight keyrings.0

My nana used to make crackers herself, and they were filled with little presents - Grown ups got minature bottles of spirits, cheap bits of jewellery, (think i have some of that too!), keyrings, lipstick, bath pearls, hankies, sewing kits - that sort of thing and kids used to get sweets and little toys (like the ones in hawkins bazar).
I remember loving them much more than the usual ones as they were special! Grandad used to write out his terrible jokes to go in them and there would be paper hats and snaps too. Sometimes little puzzles - I love the idea of printed off sudoku, reckon she'd have loved that if she were still here!
Good luck with them and have fun0
