Understanding my glasses prescription?

I wear glasses for distance.
My readings are:
R: SPH -1.00 CYL -1.25
L: SPH -0.75 CYL -1.00
But these are no good for computer work.
I've tried varifocals but can't get away with them.
So I'm looking for a prescription just for computer work (I'm about 3ft away from the screen).
So the rest of my prescription says:
R: Near +1.75 Inter +1.25
L: Near +1.75 Inter +1.25
Am I right in thinking I should use only the Inter readings then deduct the SPH readings? So for computer work I need:
R +0.25
L +0.50
Thanks.

Get whoever is making up the specs to calculate the correct prescription for you0

I'm buying cheap ones from the internet just to use on home PC.0

I'm not sure the answer to your question in terms of what part is appropriate for computer work, but make sure to include the cylinder and axis values which are for astigmatism - things blurry in one particular direction on top of the normal short-/long-sighted blur.0

still their responsbility to analyze the prescription just send them a copy and tell them its for VDU. Why take the risk of calculating it wrong yourself
The persceription you have above is missing axis measurements.0 -

Also include the cyl and axis as indicated on your glasses prescription.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
It’s a little more complicated than your calculations due to the fact you have astigmatism. I bought some cheap ones from glasses direct and told them it was for intermediate vision and scanned my prescription. The glasses I received are now perfect for computer use.0
