  • We spent £15 on a take-away last night as we were too lazy to bung something in the oven.

I'm with you el, I need to cut the spending on 'stuff' I've done all of the christmas shopping, our Canada holiday is paid for, so other than groceries I don't need anything until the new year. I've been hopeless these last couple of months and it's gotta stop. Spending diary (hopefully empty) as of tomorrow.

    Afternoon lovelies,

Ok so it's been a sociable week this week which has cost more than usual, but I've missed more social events than I've been to so I don't feel too bad about that.

    But...

My budget for my Nan for Christmas was about a tenner which I already blew by buying her a lightweight easy grip mini cordless kettle that she can lift and fill by herself...as she'd been having trouble using her old one.

...And then I completely exploded the budget by buying her a sort of hoovering robot frisbee that will clean the floors for her as she's absolutely phobic about anybody helping her with her cleaning, but she's 93 and she just can't do it herself any more.

We've tried the sneaky "well you take her out and I'll blitz the place while you're gone" approach but she gets all upset about her privacy being violated and if she gets upset she gets ill. :(

And if you say to her "Shall I just run the hoover round while I'm here Nan?" she'll always say she's just done it even if she's got dust bunnies on her dust bunnies! (Her eyesight's not all that any more.)

We're just testing the robot frisbee hoover out now, and I reckon I can set it going when I take her out and it will give the floors in her flat a bit of a going over while we're out, and she can pretend it's not happening (like divorce in the family ;) ) so it won't offend her.

    I hope so anyway.

If it works it'll be £160 well spent.

So I'm confessing the unscheduled expense, but if it solves the problem I won't be sorry.

  • Is this still DFW? :rotfl:

Bloody hell peeps! I spent £175. On my debts. Thats about it.

Oh and a tenner getting my hair cut. And I found my first grey hair! Actually it was more white than grey! I'm not actually sure that makes it any better mind!
  • spent very little this week outside of my SOA. Jus thte breakfast today and a meal on Tuesday, so £15 in all.

    Still I confess! lol
