Leaving Job - Holiday Entitlement

Hi all!

I am fortunate to have been offered a job at a new company which I am really looking forward to!

I am just working on the administrative parts of leaving and need to calculate my total holiday entitlement between starting and leaving this job - I have taken days off, but I can simply deduct those from my total entitlement.

I started on 13/05/2019.
My last working day is: 31/10/2019.

In my contract it says I am entitled to 20 days per annum annual leave accrued at 1.66 days per calendar month, worked out to the nearest half day.

The above obviously doesn't include bank holidays but I take those days off on the day of the actual bank holiday.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Your entitlement is 28 days (5.6 weeks) regardless of what it says in the contract - because that wording is just unhelpful.

For simplicity you have worked there 5.5 months - total allowance is 13 days.

Deduct the days off and the bank holidays.
  • Thanks both, very helpful!

Bear in mind that your current employer can insist that you use any outstanding holiday during your notice period if they so wish.
