Hmm I think 'the best' and 'my favourite' are not necessarily the same thing for me! Resident Evil 2 (original and remake), Roller Coaster Tycoon and Zelda Ocarina of Time are definitely high up there!

Metal Gear Solid (for the playstation) changed how I saw games and made them feel like they could be so much more than just your regular platformer like Mario - that they could tell incredible stories and be so much more in-depth than I knew before

Pokemon main series games are the best! It would not last for 25 years if it was not good. 
The worst? I don't think I played a game that I deem to be the worst. I think it really depends on your preference what you consider best or worst.

Worst - King Kong, Xbox 360. When the console was first released

Best - Kingpin life of crime, PC. An early online shooter.

Another good one - Tanarus, PC. A 1997 online tank shooter over dial-up that required a 3d card (3DFX Voodoo).
