Season tickets and intermediate stations

Hi,

with a season ticket that's valid via any permitted route, can I go to a station that's on the route, stay there for a couple of hours and then take a train back to my starting point?

Ask the rail company in question.

    Hi

I have a season ticket for travel between Southampton Airport & Bournemouth.

I regularly get off at Southampton, which is between Southampton Airport & Bournemouth.

No-one has ever stopped me going out at Southampton.

You can travel between any two stations on the permitted route between your origin and destination as many times as you like every day.

This is correct, and to add you can go in any direction - a season ticket from A to B is the same as one from B to A.

Yep agreed; an unlimited number of journeys on any route that is a permitted route, starting and/or finishing short at any station en-route, in any direction.

I'll also add that you should consider what the price of the Season ticket you have in mind costs, and see if you can extend it in either direction for the same price; the extra validity may come in useful if you ever travel further, say for leisure purposes.

Also if you do combine your Season ticket with another ticket, to make a longer journey, the train you catch does not have to call at the station where you change from one ticket to the next.
