Making my company dormant

Hello
My accountant asks £50 per month if I make my company dormant.
I find this ridiculous, is it really needed?
Thanks

£600 p.a. for dormant company accounts, corporation tax return and confirmation statement filing is a little on the high side, but not too unusual. Sounds like you're using a relatively large firm. Not sure whether you'd be able to engage another firm as it's not much of a money spinner and there's a lot of start up/KYC work to do for not a lot of profit so a new accountant probably won't be interested.
Nothing to stop you doing the necessary submissions yourself - as long as it's truly dormant (no transactions at all), you can file dormant accounts to Co House using their online service easily enough.0 -
Why use an accountant? Learn to do the filings yourself, or just dissolve the company.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
