im saving tesco stamps for next years christmas eve buffet/ christmas dinner and any random presents i see in tesco. im changing all my clubcard points into airmiles towards a long awaited holiday so im either going to use any savings towards spending money, or towards giving my garden some character :D

ive given my husband the heads up and said that 2008 is the year we turn our finances around so its going to be quite lean, but a treat at the end of it will be a great incentive for us!
Back and ready to save some money! :D
  • the breadmaker is on timed now, i lost count of how much flour i put in! and the kitchen is a tip now, i even made flapjacks befor. one more brew, then im of to bed with my hot water bottle.
Back on MSE again! to take control of my finances and not let it control me. :T May grocery challenge £41.96/140

  • Can I join too?

Already have a pig which we save lose change in 1p`s,2p`s and 5p`s which is saving for spend for a big trip overseas. This gets emptied whenit`s full and put into the offset mortgage account, so part mortgage pig.

Sure i have seen some sealed tins in the £1 shop, will get someone to pop in and get me 1, so i am not tempted to buy anything else!!

Going to save any 50p`s i get in my sealed tin and see how I go
  • Can I join in too, please starting 1st January '08 and opening 31st December '08? :D

I will throw any change left at the end of the weekly money into the pot, along with the cash equivalent of any vouchers I use when shopping.

Good luck to all with all these new challenges we are starting for the new year :)
  • I'd like to join this too please. Hubbie has agreed to it too, something we can do together, ahh!

We will start New Years Day and open NYD 2009 we can then decide what to do with the money as a family. I'm not setting a goal as I don't want any pressure or to be disappointed, just going to add what I can spare and won't need or miss.

Great idea for a thread. Will buy or make a pot today.

Have a happy and prosperous new year all!
