If we all don't keep track of what we put in then it'll be pointless the thread carrying on won't it? Unless you just note it down daily without actually counting it throughout.I update mine to my sig each time i put an amount in, i find this way it motivates me more
.
babes when we start i am not count as such i am just counting the coins i put in my terr (from the start date) so my sig will be 'sealed pot savings ~ X coins added to date' i know its only £1 & £2 so tecnically you can work out how much i have but i dont want to keep a real tally on it anyway. I am not keeping count of my 5ps and coppers as when i cash them in they will be turned into cash for my terr0 -
Ah i see, quite similar to what i'm doing then pap

A terrible hardship of course, dunno how I'll manage!
I guess if we can't update the exact amount of money we put in we could just update with "more change added today"
Then the thread will stay bumped.
Those who are keeping count, of course, can update with their amounts.
BTW, I am aiming for £200 by Dec 1st 2008.

I'm in...does it mean I am cheating if I add some already saved tho??Its not much honest!!0

Really it doesn't matter too much whether you are already starting or only counting every thing under 50p or whether you are bunging in everything under a fiver!
The whole idea is that you are motivated to put some money away, for a time in the future. It doesn't matter who saves what, and from when - we will all be winners when we eventually open our tins/piggies/terramundis and have money we otherwise wouldn't have had, or would have previously frittered away!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi guys,
having just finished my 1 month challenge of saving everything under 50p (which was great) I'd like to join too please!
How about THIS idea.... on 1st December, the first thing we put into our saving vessels is a little slip of paper with an ESTIMATED AMOUNT SAVED???
When we come to open in a years time, we can see our estimates and our true savings and then we can share our totals? for example...
1st December 2007: Estimated £150.00
1st December 2008: Actual Savings: £181.27
What do you think?
That's what I'm going to do! :j
I'll update as and when a little more goes in throughout the year though...
Good luck!

I like the idea of all putting down an aim for how much money they can save.
Mumsy of 2 - If you are going to make a list, why not add everyones aim next to it?
To all those recycling xmas sweetie and biscuit tins, they are very thin and easy to cut a hole in. My brother just (carefully) used a penknife and carved a little slot for me. Total debt £21,000 :eek:Weight loss to date - 2 st, 2lb:j0 -
I'll join but I will be a mega cheat. I started this back in January with £1 and £2 in the terramundi and everything under £1 in the big 3l vodka bottle. Usually I save these up for holiday spending, but our big holiday was in february and we're going to canada for christmas to stay with the in laws. I don't need spending money there because they put some money in our Canadian account for a wedding pressie.
So, the plan is, not empty the pots at all until christmas next year, which will give me 2 years of savings.
On another note, I've just sat down and done a 2008 budget with projected savings by December next year. I'm not going to post it because we do have a good income and I don't wanna make my DFW friends feel bad. I'm determined to hit my savings target though so I need your help to keep me on the waggon. I'm so crap at not spending as the sunday confessional shows every week.:A
