As others have suggested...raid your savings for the insurance, and then repay yourself monthly £££ (as you would have if the loan was successful), so by the end of the year, your savings are reinstated. The APR on any loan will be more than your savings rate, so saving you money overall.

Unless you're not disciplined enough to pay yourself in the same way as committing to a loan!!!! Only you know that!!!
yes I'm disciplined enough for that I saved £500 a month scraping every penny to buy the car in the first place, but were looking to move somewhere sooner rather then later

So, you just have to choose where your priorities lie. Decisions we all have to make every day.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

yes i thought i had it all figured out :/
I will see if im able to get a 0% credit card by the time my renewal is due
  • Should be sorted now, I got a 0% for 20 months credit card which should be arriving in 7 days (i have 10 days left to insure)
I will be able to pay the £1155 for the insurance and ive set the monthly payments to £150 so ill be rid of the debt with enough time to plan for the next renewal (sure my price should be cheaper by then too!!!)

in a way good for you for not going down the usual route of all these run of the mill financemobiles like Sportage or A3..blah blah...I'm sick of seeing the same old 4 wheeled finance agreements driving round.
