Hello locals. I'd like to ask you a favour. I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to regular CVS stores since some of my medication isn't covered by health insurance. Yes, those are non-prescription drugs and I've been thinking about some sort of a cheaper alternative like online drug stores. I've heard that Canadian ones are a lot cheaper than US-based. And judging by the news about their health system I don't think this theory is far fetched. Anyway, I need any feedback regarding real life experience of dealing with online drug stores. Any pitfalls etc. Will appreciate any kind of info regarding this issue. For instance: delivery times, payment methods, customs office issues and scammers. Anyway, I would appreciate any kind of feedback on your online medication sellers. Which are more reliable, which ones deal with prescription drugs (if it's legal to do so). I have never tried it online, so I'd like to get as much info as possible. Thanks.

I think most of not all on this forum are based in the UK so you probably won't get the best advise from here.SPC #062

I'd agree with Rebecca.
This also depends on -where- you are yourself too. Bear in mind you may need a licence to import certain medicine products yourself (I'm not talking about THC things either here) , items such as various anti-depressants / steriod based products in some cases etc etc
This is going to vary wildly depending on where you are (and if US/Canada which state you are in too as that varies!) and where you are obtaining the items from.
Then there's the question of what is allowed to be posted/mailed itself as well as import tax/duties/customs inspection and declarations.
I'd personally -not- recommend trying it at all. There are far too many pitfalls here. And I'm assuming what you're looking for could be legally prescribed or obtained in your resident country. Posting from oversea's something that would otherwise only be prescription (doctors order) available is also a very gray/grey area indeed with regard to legality, again this varies on where you are.
For anything even remotely resembling vaguely correct advise we would need to know what/where from/where to, and then if its even got a vague hint of something 'not right or not completely 100% legal in source/destination' we could not help and a moderator would likely and rightly shut this topic down.0 -
We're not healthcare consumers in the UK in quite the same way as those in the US. Internet pharmacies have a small place in the market, but people select their preferred pharmacy on the basis of quality factors rather than any price point.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I do recall (it may of changed but its not that long ago, 5 years or so) there were certain types of medications you could quite legally buy in France from a pharmacist's shop without prescription whereas over here a script would be needed for the same item. To be fair they were low mg, higher ones would need a script in France too. That is one small difference. I think (I stand to be corrected on this) in Germany there is more a need for a script for more items too.
Much difference in each country (and in the case of US/Canada, likely each state too) and as VfM4meplse has mentioned the way the systems work (if I am OK to put it like that, its how I read it) are quite different per country.0 -
Have you thought of looking at Costco, which can be a lot cheaper than CVS, they will also deliver to your house.
Bear in mind that you have to be a Costco member to enjoy these benefits.0 -
What kind of medicine are you looking for? If those are non-prescription drugs you can give it a try though. Shouldn't be any problems with it. There was only one time I bought pills online at Canadian Pharmacy and it took longer than I expected. Everything was fine, but still it keeps you thinking about what's inside. These days there are tons of indian pills that are repackaged and sold as top brands. And not doing their job is not the worst case with these pills. They could easily have some side effects due to some "impurities" (I don't know the medical term) that could harm you a lot. That's what bothers me the most with those online sellers. It's not some home appliance we're talking about. It's your own health. And a lot more money than saved on meds could be easily spent on your hospital bill.0
