Cream to lower body shaving irritation?

I am a guy and very hairy, I tend to shave my elbows and top of arms, even with shaving gel it gets red spots and itches I deal with it but can be very itchy sometimes.

I try regular baby lotion which does a tiny bit of help but not too much, same for aqueous cream or actually that does nothing.

Cream designed to put on after shaving did work but prices basically quadrupled in recent years and the quality has dropped to point its near ineffective.

What else can I buy cheaply?

Good old Germolene or sudacrem? I'm thinking that anything used for nappy rash would be gentle on your skin. Zinc and castor oil cream is also very good (and cheap if you get the bpc version!)
Sorry, don't know anything specifically for shaving rash but I'm sure that someone else will!

Products containing witch hazel are liked by wet shavers. Or a block of shavers alum which can sometimes be found very cheap in middle-eastern/ethnic stores. Works well as an underarm deodorant, too.
