Cheap yet reliable dishwasher tablets and rinse aid

Another vote for Aldi everything - tabs, salt and rinse aid. If anything, I find their tablets a little too strong, but they certainly remove tea stains etc which some others I've tried can miss.
I'd agree but I think it's worth an occasional trip to Lidl as I'm impressed with the dishwasher salt dispenser box.
There will be a film over time on glasses but I only put cheap kitchen glasses (like IKEA) in the dishwasher. Everything comes out clean0 -

We're a bit short of Lidl branches my my area, so I've no experience with their products. I do agree about glasses, and even printed mugs which, despite being marked 'dishwasher safe', often fade quite quickly. I don't think I'd risk the Minton with anyone's dishwasher powder!0 -
But is there definitely no difference in the wash results between all-in-one tabs and all-in-one tabs plus salt & rinse aid? Especially in hard water areas?
No difference that I could see when I tried.
But you said all in one plus salt & rinse aid? That would just result in way too much salt and rinse as its already in tabs.
It should be either standard tabs + salt + rinse aid or all in one tabs and nothing else.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. I use Aldi tabletsand I buy my rinse aid and salt in Poundstretchers, the rinse aid is about 69p in my store.0

I use Finish Powerball (I think that’s what they’re called - used to seeing the box and grabbing, lol).
Every so often you can find them in Home Bargains/B&M/Poundland, a big box of 110 tabs for 8.99 - sometimes 9.99 - but I wait for the 8.99 and buy a few boxes to put away. Haven’t bought anything else in the last 3 years.0 -

Does that mean you tried cheaper Lidl/Aldi tablets, they did not impress you so you prefer much more expensive (even when it's £8.99 for 110 tablets) Finish?
I’ve not tried others (as of yet anyway). We’ve only had a dishwasher for the 3 years I mentioned and I have just bought the Finish at what I thought was a good price @ 8.99 for 110 tablets. I didn’t see prices mentioned for the various tablets in the thread, if they are priced less I may well give them a try0 -
I also use Lidls bog standard tablets and use salt and rinse aid - also from lidl
I have a slimline dishwasher so I prefer plain tablets as I break them in half and just use half0 -
I use the Morrison own brand 'all in one' tablets and they do the job just fine and dandy. It was £4 (on offer from £5) for the family pack of 60 tabs.
The get everything clean and don't leave any smears or residue on anything.Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0 -

I have, L's, Wilko & A5da anyway and not impressed. I'm in very hard water area. I now do as Petula and buy Finish in bulk when I spot them on offerEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
