I would suggest putting it in writing rather than phoning. Once you've read the policy. Always best to have a record so it doesn't go all "he said/she said.) Plus you've got time then to phrase it properly rather than feeling put on the spot and not explaining it properly. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Dannistall I have UC too and it can be a horrendous disease to cope with at times.
How long has it been since your diagnosis? I’m assuming that you are also under the care of a consultant on the maternity unit of the hospital you will be having the baby at? If so is there anything they can do to assist with this whilst your flare up is still ongoing. I’m sure you already know this but it’s super important to try and get this flare up under control ASAP.
You can ask for the meetings to be held in a more convenient location IE at your home so the worry of blood and accidents is somewhat diminished. They are entitled to keep in regular contact with you and each company will have different rules as to how frequent these will be. Don’t resign in the heat of the moment, I know it’s hard for you right now but it will get better0 -
I first started getting flares around 4/5 year ago but ignored them till I was pregnant with my daughter 3 year ago as it wasn't just about me then but the symptoms went away on their own half way through pregnancy, they didn't actually do the camera till after I had my daughter then diagnosed me then, yes I'm under the care by 2 specialists at hospital but being referred to another who specialises in pregnancy and UC which I'm very thankful for! I'm going to go to this meeting today, accidents or not so I can tell them how I'm really feeling about it all hopefully they understand0

They should be understanding about your needs, a request such as having the meetings at your home, or at a more convenient location should be accommodated.
Most important thing is the health of you and your foetus.0 -
Have you seen occupational health?Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0

As others have said, check you work's sickness policiy. they are probably trying to keep in touch with you so they have some idea of when/if you are likelyto be well enough to return, but you can request that the meetings take place at home, at a neutral location near your home, or by phone, if you are not well enough to go to the office. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
