Sorry but more PPI questions

Hello folks,

We took out a secured loan for £20000 from Endeavour personal finance in 2004 for which £3800 was added on for PPI.
This loan was cleared off at the start of this year from the sale of our old flat to the tune of £23812 after making payments of £270p/m for 3ish years.

Anyway I requested a copy of the origanal loan agreement for Endeavour to which they have sent. I replied to them asking for PPI to be reimbursed as it was a single premium loan and also I feel we were conned into taking the PPI.
The credit agreement we had signed had already been ticked in the PPI box.
(I know this from style of tick used, I dont tick like that and feel awkward copying it and my girlfriend is left handed, I know its silly but I am 100% sure about this)
They replied stating that my concern was not with them as I had used a broker called "The Loan Company"
What do I do now contact The Laon Comapny and if so does anyone have contact details for them or even had any dealings with them?

I also have another claim

Again in 2004 we got some home improvemnts done by Anglian Home improvments. Having received the credit agreement from them I notice that the finance was supplied by GE money is this the same company as GE Capital Bank Ltd who have already been fined for mis-selling PPI?
Do I write to Anglian to have my PPI case dealt with or GE MONEY? I feel it was the Anglian salesman who conned me, ( long story but was basicly told I had to sign there and then that night to qualify for a special discount they were offering, probably to take my mind away from the £800 he had lumped in for PPI without saying)

Thanks in advance

Do not write to the window company or broker in these cases. The lender will have arranged the insurances. Very rarely do brokers arrange stand alone policies. The lender are responsible for the redress.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.
  • Thanks to both of you for your replies,

Peter I have read I think probably all your posts on this site as I have been trying to find what I should be doing next and you replies to peoples queries have been excellent.

My reply from Endeavour Personal finance

"I am concerned to learn.....I have taken the oppertunity to review the background....

You may recall that you approached a credit broker The Loan Company who acted and arranged a loan and policy on your behalf. Endeavour Personal Finance was merely the loan provider and Hamilton Insurance Company Limited and Hamilton Assurance Life Company Limited the insurance provider. Any issues you have concerning the selling of the loan or policy must therefore be directed to The Loan Company"

I guess this is them trying to fob me off?? but on Endeavours T&Cs they refer to Hamilton Insurance as the insurer so I am assuming you are right that it is not a stand alone policy.

Sorry but the million doller question is how do I reply??

    Thanks again

Thank you for your generous words. You are welcome.

The ppi in your case may only be the tip of the iceberg as I know this company and their documentation and there is likely to be additional areas besides the ppi that you can challenge them on. We would need to discuss your specific circumstances and how to proceed. I will send you a personal message with contact details.
