How do I enter?

You can enter the competition by texting YES to 61025 (cost £2.00 plus 1 standard network rate message) or online at the bottom of this page.

You can enter each daily draw a maximum of 6 times via SMS (including free entries) and a maximum of 6 times online for free. We strongly advise against excessive use.

When do I enter?

You must enter during the opening and closing times of each draw of the competition. Entry to the competition will open and close as follows:

Monday’s Draw: opens at 3:10pm Friday, closes at 3:00pm Monday

Tuesday’s Draw: opens at 3:10pm Monday, closes at 3:00pm Tuesday

Wednesday’s Draw: opens at 3:10pm Tuesday, closes at 3:00pm Wednesday

Thursday’s Draw: opens at 3:10pm Wednesday, closes at 3:00pm Thursday

Friday’s Draw: opens at 3:10pm Thursday, closes at 3:00pm Friday

The prize value is announced on air each day after 8am. This will then be repeated each hour until the draw at 3pm.

Cash Register Terms and Conditions
These Competition terms and conditions should be read together with, and are in addition to, Bauer Radio Limited’s standard terms and conditions at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html (the “General Terms”). Together these specific competition terms and conditions and the General Terms shall be referred to as the “Terms”. Where there is a conflict between these terms and the General Terms, these terms shall prevail.

ITEM 1: COMPETITION NAME

“Cash Register” running from the Start Date to the End Date as set out below (the “Competition”).

ITEM 2: PROMOTER

Bauer Radio Limited, registered office: Media House Peterborough Business Park, Lynch Wood, Peterborough, United Kingdom, PE2 6EA and registered under company number 01394141 (the “Promoter”)

This is a Hits Radio Network Scotland Competition, running across the following radio stations:

Clyde 1

Forth 1

MFR

Northsound 1

Radio Borders

Tay FM

West FM

Subject to the other provisions of these Terms and Conditions the Competition is open only to those living in the broadcast areas of the above named stations (the “Hits Radio Network Scotland” stations), which is strictly limited to Scotland and North Northumberland.

ITEM 4: COMPETITION START DATE AND END DATE

Start Date: Friday 27th September 3:00pm

End Date: Friday 18th October 3:00pm

Entries to the Competition will open on Friday 27th September 3:00pm.

The first round of the competition will take place on Monday 30th September after 3:00pm. We reserve the right to broadcast the Competition at any time throughout each day during the broadcast schedule. As further described below, the Competition consists of multiple daily draws. Where there is no winner for a daily draw, all valid entries for that daily draw will be rolled over into the pool of entries for the following daily draw. One or more rollovers of a daily draw shall be referred to as a “Round”. Where there is no winner of a daily draw and a rollover takes place, those entrants who have already entered that same Round are permitted to enter again for additional chances to play the Competition.

ITEM 5: COMPETITION DETAILS

At 8am each weekday (Monday to Friday) during the Entry Periods of the Competition, as set out below, the presenter(s) of a Station will announce on-air the cash register amount (“Prize Amount”) in pounds and pence, relevant to that daily draw of the Competition. For the avoidance of doubt, where there is a rollover of a daily draw due to an Entrant failing to win any of the Prize Amount, the Prize Amount on the following day shall not be lower than on the previous day of that Round.

Each Prize Amount will be valid for that day’s draw only, will be the winning answer and will also be the cash prize that entrants are trying to win for that day (hereby known as the “Prize”).

As set out above, the relevant Prize Amount for each day of the Competition will be announced on-air. However, we reserve the right to announce the Prize Amount at any time during the relevant day of the Competition. We may also advertise the current Prize Amount on the respective Station’s website, social media or via an SMS marketing message or via any other medium at our absolute discretion.

After each Entry Period has closed, one entrant from all of the valid entries will be selected by automated random draw and will be contacted by the phone number provided with their entry. This may be live on air or off-air to be played out at a later time on-air. All callers are randomly selected in the same way and any off-air recording will only ever take place after the entries have closed.

In order to play the Competition, the entrant must answer their phone within 5 rings. The 5 rings will be judged according to the Station audio recording (for the avoidance of doubt the sound of a “ring ring” shall count as one ring, not two). The entrant will be asked to play the Competition as soon as they answer the phone. If they are not in a position to play for any reason then they will be unable to play the Competition, and no other entrant will be called.

If you are selected, you will be required to talk to the presenter(s) and your call will be recorded and played on-air (assuming there is no breach by you of these terms and conditions).

The entrant who is randomly selected to play will be asked to name the Prize Amount relevant to that daily draw of the Competition.

If they give the correct Prize Amount in pounds and pence of that day’s Prize Amount then they will win the Prize. We may ask an entrant to repeat or confirm their answer.

The entrant will not win the Prize should they:

• fail to answer the phone at all; or

• fail to answer the phone within five rings (according to the station’s audio); or

• give the incorrect Prize Amount; or

• fail to say anything at all; or

• be disconnected for any reason beyond our control

The answer given must be clearly audible to presenters and adjudicators and audible on the studio’s audio recording. If this is unclear or inaudible due to a poor signal or any other reason, entrants are ineligible to win. If entrants appear in the judgement of the presenters and/or adjudicators to be driving illegally, they will not be eligible to win. Where there is any doubt in relation to whether or not an entrant has given the correct Prize Amount or the prize should be awarded, we reserve the right to defer decision making to an off-air adjudicator to check the audio recording with reference to these terms and conditions. All our decisions relating to the Competition and/or awarding of prizes are final. No discussions or correspondence with entrants or any other person will be entered into.

Where there has been a winner for a daily draw, the new Prize Amount will be announced on-air for the next daily draw and you will need to enter again to be eligible to win. All previous entries for the daily draw which has been won will not be valid for future draws. Where there has not been a winner for a daily draw, there will be a rollover and a new Prize Amount will be announced on-air for the next daily draw. In the event of a rollover, you do not need to enter again in order to be eligible to win, but you are able to do so (as described at Item 4) if you would like to increase your chances of winning.

If no winner is declared, all entrants from the completed draw, and any other previous draws, where no winner was declared, will automatically be eligible for the next daily draw that takes place after 3:00pm the following weekday. A new Prize Amount may be announced for the next draw. This will be done in line with these terms and conditions.

We reserve the right to guarantee a winner for a daily draw. This will be clearly communicated on air throughout the entry period of that daily draw. Where a winner is guaranteed, if the first entrant chosen to play is not declared the winner, another entrant will be drawn at random and asked to play. This process will continue until a winner is declared.

ITEM 6: DRAW DETAILS

Entry to the first draw will open at 3.00pm on Friday 27th September and close at 3.00pm on 18th October.

Following the first draw, entry to the competition will open and close as follows (individually an “Entry Period”, together the “Entry Periods”):

• Monday’s Draw: opens at 3.10pm Friday, closes at 3.00pm Monday

• Tuesday’s Draw: opens at 3:10pm Monday, closes at 3:00pm Tuesday

• Wednesday’s Draw: opens at 3:10pm Tuesday, closes at 3:00pm Wednesday

• Thursday’s Draw: opens at 3:10pm Wednesday, closes at 3:00pm Thursday

• Friday’s Draw: opens at 3:10pm Thursday, closes at 3:00pm Friday

As above, the final draw is expected to take place on Friday 18th October at 3:00pm. If the first entrant chosen to play on this date, is not declared the winner, another entrant will be drawn at random and asked to play. This process will continue until a winner is declared, at which point, both the Round and the Competition shall end.

If an entry is received after the closing time for a daily draw (but before the End Date), unless you receive a text message advising your entry has been unsuccessful (in which case you may still be charged), your entry will be valid for the following daily draw. For the avoidance of doubt, any entries received before or after the End Date (as stated above) will be invalid but you may still be charged.

The daily draws will take place each weekday (Monday to Friday) after entry to that daily draw has closed (after 3:00pm each day). Once the Entry Period has closed a random automated draw of all registered, qualifying entrants will take place and the Station shall call the phone number provided by the Entrant.
