I purchased one of these prime day last year, not had any issues with it. You can stream direct to your phone whilst in the car but I just leave it running and if I've needed anything from the footage just downloaded the section I've needed. With having no screen it's nowhere near as noticable.

They do go on sale for around £40 every so often.

Thanks for that informative post Richard, where are you based as this is a UK website and we usually use windscreen rather than the American version of windshield.
