Old EGG Loan

I received a letter from ARROW GLOBAL regarding an outstanding amount on an old EGG loan that personally I thought was paid off. I actually got PPI from this about 2/3 years ago. It states that 'under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 they did not comply with providing statutory notices within the prescribed timescales to inform me about the status of my account' This has been the case since February 2013 according to their letter. I sent a letter asking them to prove ownership of the loan etc and now I have received a letter from CAPQUEST with a balance of £6000 saying they first wrote to me in Dec 2017 (??) to confirm CAPQUEST would be managing my account. Long story short what the hell can I do to dispute this if I can? I don't want to admit to this balance and seriously don't believe I owe it!!

You just need to ask them for evidence of the debt.
If you have evidence of you clearing it, it would be useful to also send that.0 -
I did ask Arrow and that's when I received the letter from Capquest saying they wrote to me in 2017. Search me...0

Do you have evidence that you repaid? You say "that personally I thought was paid off" which introduces some doubt in my mind, at least. The views expressed here are my own. I am not a Solicitor nor am I affiliated with any of the parties I mention. If you disagree with any of my comments please say in whatever way feels most natural to you. ...as in I don't remember but I think I'd remember a £6000 bill hanging over my head.0
