Can you explain Quidco to me please....!

Options
Hi all,

Just joined Quidco after one of you mentioned it in my DFW post yesterday.

I'm currently trawling though looking for cheaper home insurance and had a good quote from Nationwide, through Quidco.

How does it work? If i buy the policy do i can the £75 cashback Quidco state or does this add up or do i have to do something to get it?!

Never used a site like that before and don't fully understand it...
Thank you in advance xxx

Quidco to date = £1224 cashback

The cookies on your computer will track the purchase (or something like that) and within a few hours or days a purchase should show up on your Earnings page on Quidco as "Tracked". Once the purchase of your insurance has been confirmed it will change to Validated, and once Quidco receive the money from Nationwide it will become "Received". Quidco will then queue the payment to you, and once you have been paid it into your bank account it will become "Paid".

All of this can take varying amounts of time, some merchants will track and validate almost straight away, others can take a long time. The stats shown on the merchant's Quidco page should give you some idea of how quick/reliable they are.

Make sure you keep any emails relating to your purchase or even take a screenshot to show you are clicking through Quidco to buy it, as if the purchase fails to track you can then submit an "Enquiry" which is a kind of appeal and you can still be paid in some cases :)

  • To do a screenshot, when the information is on screen, press the 'Alt Gr' key and the Print Screen key (next to F12 on my keyborad) at the same time.

Then open Word and click paste on a blank page. The 'shot' you have taken will paste onto the page and you can then save it.

Best bet is to try the tracking with a few small, cheap offers first so you can see that everything should work before you commit to any big expenses on the basis of expected cashback!

There are several 'free' offers - look at the ones for Kelkoo etc which pay you just for doing a search, and recently there were freebies with Bailey's and Whiskas. Land's End, Misco, KLM and a few others pay you to sign up to their newsletter (I think they're all Quidco - if not it will be topcashback.co.uk which is basically the same). I think a lot of people with Macs use a different browser when doing cashback purchases, so if you've got Safari, use Firefox or Netscape when making purchases.

There's LOADS of money to be made from cashback though so it's well worth giving it a go!

Type 'Grab' into 'Spotlight' then select it.

It should open up then just use the capture option and choose the type of capture you require in the file menu. Then once captured save it.

    job done
