Debts belong to individuals, not addresses.
If you get correspondence, return it as 'not at this address'.0 -
Lets hope your mate read the rules about bankruptcy from abroad and is actually eligible…
"If you live in another member state of the European Union (EU) (apart from Denmark), you can only go bankrupt in England or Wales if you can show that your centre of main interests is in England or Wales and has been for the last six months. There is no definition of centre of main interests. However, the adjudicator and the court will usually consider it to be the country where you mainly live or currently earn your living. Your centre of main interests is in the country people would expect to find you and where you earn and spend money. If your centre of main interests is in another EU member state (except Denmark), you cannot go bankrupt in England or Wales."
but no - your address should not be a problem unless you have financial links together (joint bank accounts, joint utility bills etc)0 -
I don't really care to be honest, anything im worried about is people turning up to my house and asking for money......0

If he was living at your address and has recently left, make sure the council tax bill is updated to have his details removed from it.
There's an article on StepChange about this kind of situation: https://www.stepchange.org/debt-info/your-rights/debts-not-in-my-name.aspx
It would look like it's the recommended/easiest option for proving he doesn't live there anymore.
Good luck with it, it sounds like a bit of hassle to deal with, but should have the correct outcome in the end.I may be wrong sometimes, I learn a little every time I'm corrected.0 -
Regarding your crdit score it may be worth contacting the Credit Reference agancies to tell them either that he has left the address & when or that he never lived at your address.
Have you checked what proof of address he used?0 -
He moved in with me on July 2014 and lived with us only for 3 months ....his name was only on water bill, but we couldn't be bothered to take him off (my fault/laziness) and from December last year is me and my wife only. I know his abroad address, should i report him? Such a idiot....0

£50K of loans without a permanent address?! ...was there fraud involved? If so, it might be worth checking your credit history regularly just incase.0

So was he living at your address when he took out the loans? If so, they were correctly 'under your address'.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
