Darrennah - When Ds was small I was often told that this was the easy bit as you always knew they were safely tucked up in bed of a night, it has proved to be true. The first few times he went out after he recovered I was texting him virtually every hour, it was driving him nuts! I’m now at much more respectable, in my opinion, 3 texts a night:rotfl:
I’ve spent most of the evening trying to get my plan for NST October posted, with only one house to go I’ve kind of lost the will to carry on. When I posted it to my page the different colours didn’t show up and I can’t figure out how to quote so I’m typing it up and changing colour for each section, it’s proving to be a nightmare.
Tomorrow Dh gets paid tomorrow so the bulk of my housekeeping gets paid in, bills go out on DD and I need to get the monthly shop. I’m going to try Asda this month to see if I can save money and still get everything I want. The food audit was interesting, we have four different types of chill sauce open in the cupboards and its only Ds that uses it, I think I can safely get away without buying anymore for a while.0 -
Feeling proper rough today, this cold has really hit my chest. All shopping done, bills paid just waiting for Dh to pay in the rest of my housekeeping and then I can pay to savings.
Completed a ‘frog’ today - I discussed our financial with Dh and have agreed that the housekeeping needs to go up by £50 a month. He’s not tight with money, he just has no interest so doesn’t realise how much bills and food have gone up the last few years. I have said we will need to reassess in April, I think he thinks that it’s going to go back down, he’s going to be in for a surprise.
I did the monthly shop in Asda instead of Tesco as part of The NST challenge, it was definitely cheaper, although hard to judge as after doing the food audit I really pared back the shopping. There was a coupe of bits I couldn’t get, but I can pick that up later. The real test is going to be if we are happy with the quality and the difference in own brand products. They needed razor blades, I hate buying them they are extortionate for what they are, I did look around online to find a deal and found 2 packs of 4 for £15 in Superdrug,so I’ve ordered them through topcashback to get the 7% back.
So that’s pretty much all the excitement for this month, the rest of the month is just plodding along doing my best to keep to the NST challenge, although sticking to Stoptober is going to be much harder.0 -
Financially a quiet day, Dh has to make one more housekeeping payment into my account tomorrow and then I can transfer what’s left to the EF.
Another frog completed, I finally sorted the kitchen drawer, so I’ve taken another bag to the charity shop. I found lots of 35mm films in there, I popped into a local camera shop to see if they can be developed, it’s £10 each and apparently there is no way of seeing if the are damaged until they have been developed so I could end up paying for spoilt photos. I do want to get them developed so I will research this some more.
Awful headache this evening so will keep this short, I just really wanted to make a quick post just to keep the habit going. I think I’ll wash up and go to bed. The excitement!?!0 -
2/3 of the paper work is sorted, I will finish the rest tomorrow, another bag filled for the charity shop and the recycling bin bags for paper and cardboard are looking full and they were only emptied this morning. I wish I knew where my oomph has gone, it seems to have gone on the missing list.
All bills are paid and housekeeping in so I have paid what’s left to EF, which now stands at £700.01, the 1p makes all the difference. When I get the EF to £1500 I will reassess making overpayments, for an odd reason I find overpayments off of debt more satisfying than saving.
I have discovered that Asda develops 35mm film on to dvds for £5.75, so I think I will try to send 2 off a month, hopefully it will be a nice surprise when they come back.
Another NSD today and tomorrow should be the same.0 -
Just caught up on your diary. Welcome - keep posting - you will see things change. Thanks for the film tip - I may try that myself.
Glad that your family are doing better - hope you recover from the lurgy quickly too. It is natural when the adrenaline wears off to kind of sag a little - but it is healthier for you than constantly running on it.
